Understanding the ancient power of the runes
The system of astrology I practice utilizes the runes in a way not many people have been exposed to. Each of the twelve zodiac signs has a runic equevilent as does the twelve houses. When one uses the runes with traditional astrology, the interpretations of natal charts become much more clear and specific. Here is a brief overview of the signs.
Cardinal signs:

Aries: Feoh
Cancer: Eohl-Secg

Fixed Sings:
Gemini: Eoh

Runic Houses of the Zodiac
Each house in traditional astrology has a corresponding rune. Here are the traditional house meanings and the rune that represents them:
1st house: The self, both physical and spiritual. The rune is Man.
2nd house: Possessions and worldly strength. The rune is Ur.
3rd house: Communications and mental/spiritual travel. The rune is Rad.
4th house: Home or dwelling. The rune is Othila.
5th house: Creativity of any kind. The rune is Lagu.
6th house: Service and health. The rune is Wyn.
7th house: Marriage and partnerships. The rune is Gyfu.
8th house: Death and regeneration. The rune is Beorc.
9th house: represents mental exploration. The rune is Thorn.
10th house: Career and earning potential. The rune is Feoh.
11th house: Friends and family. The rune is Ing.
12th house: Self un-doing. The rune is Hagal.
As you can see, using the runes in astrology brings us more clarity and a deeper insight into the hidden recesses of our subconscious mind. Runes not only help us to see our life patterns in a very direct way, they give us an opportunity to change our negative patterns. It's a whole different game when we can actually see what represents us in our every day experiences.
