This is one version of the Helm of Awe, perhaps the most popular. All versions of this sacred symbol have one common thread: To bestow great power upon the wearer and influence the world outside of ourselves. Many Vikings wore this symbol on their body as well as their sheilds and weapons to promote invincibility and to place fear in their enemies. From a geometrical perspective we can begin to understand why this rune has so much potential. The science used for building/creating, be it physical or non-physical, consists of right angles, horizontals and perpendiculars. All aspects are present in this symbol. Every major and minor direction is covered. At the end of every direction is a shape most people associate with a pitched fork or an antena. The circle at the center of the rune outlines the point where all directions meet and subsequently represents the will of the person wearing it, enabling him/her to penetrate and affect their immediate environment.
When worn as a talisman or drawn on the body, this rune will give you the upper hand.
